Testing Must Continue To Increase

Testing at public health labs has increased since the first cases were detected in the United States, even as labs struggled early on with a problematic test from the CDC, reagent shortages and having to reorganize lab resources. However, experts say testing in general must increase to understand the impacts of the virus and to help policymakers decide when and how to ease restrictions intended to limit the virus’s spread.
