Consumers Are Paying More For New Cars, And It’s Not Because Of Inflation

The average price paid for a new car has risen 26% in the past 10 years, to $37,782 in September 2019. But prices for similar vehicles haven’t increased that much, meaning that Americans are choosing to buy more expensive cars that are bigger or have upgraded options.
