Landfill Methane Capture and Use

Methane is created when bacteria decompose organic waste in landfills. If it’s not captured, methane vents into the atmosphere, where it can do fast damage to the climate. About 500 landfills around the country, a fraction of the total, capture methane and convert it to sources of energy. Here is how it can work.
