Varying numbers of fish stocks were assessed per region (and therefore contribute differently to the global average) — from 31 stocks in the Northeast U.S. Continental Shelf (registering a 1 percent decline) to 2 stocks in the Sea of Okhotsk (registering a 7 percent decline).
