Mongolia Expects Harsher and More Frequent Dzuds

Mongolia’s Information and Research Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Environment estimates that nationwide dzuds will occur every four to five years, instead of every 10. Here’s the percentage of the total national livestock population that perished each winter, including the 21.5 million total livestock lost during the 1999-2002 and 2009-2010 dzuds.
