2017 Was An Outlier Year On The Southern Border

Unlike in previous years, the number of people taken into custody or deemed to be “inadmissible” for entry at the Southern border dropped significantly in the first part of 2017. The month-by-month trend in 2018 is more similar to the trends in 2013-2016.
