The 2017 Tax Timeline, In Comparison

Forty-seven days have passed since Republicans introduced their attempt at a tax overhaul in the House, and that bill is set to pass Congress Tuesday, after which it will go on to the president. That makes this bill’s timeline look a lot more like that of the 2001 Bush tax cuts than Republicans’ sweeping 1986 overhaul, which took nearly a year to move through Congress.
