Virginia’s changing demographics favor Democrats

In this rapidly diversifying state, Latinos, Asians and people with a college degree — groups that lean toward more Democratic candidates — make up an increasing share of Virginia’s population compared to 20 years ago. Meanwhile, the white (non-Hispanic) share of the population has dropped and the Black share of the population has held steady.
