Many New Women Candidates Are In Races They Have Little Chance Of Winning

There’s a new wave of women — particularly Democratic women — running for office in 2018. However, a large share of Democratic women in particular are running in districts considered to be safe Republican seats, come November. Below are the combined totals of non-incumbent women running for U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and governorships, broken out by the Cook Political Report race ratings for those contests.
