Black Girls And Women Were Reported Missing At A Disproportionate Rate Last Year

In 2020, 268,884 girls and women were reported missing in the United States, according to the National Crime Information Center. A third of those reported missing were Black — far greater than their share of the overall female population.

Notes * White includes people who are Hispanic/Latina. (The National Crime Information Center report does not break these out separately.)
Both white and Black include people who identify as that race alone or in combination with some other race.
