Pennsylvania election results

Pennsylvania is one of the most critical states that could decide not only the presidential race but also control in the Senate. That’s why both Vice President Harris and former President Donald Trump have made numerous visits to the Keystone State and why both parties have poured their resources into ads.

The state, with its 19 electoral votes — the most of any of the seven closely watched swing states — has gone with the winner in the last four elections.

There are five tight House races. The Senate race between Democratic Sen. Bob Casey, the three-term incumbent, and former hedge fund CEO David McCormick, a Republican, has been one of the most expensive in the United States.

Notes: The estimated share of votes counted is based on AP analysis. AP notes that this will fluctuate as the vote tabulation takes place. Election results are tabulated by The Associated Press. (Here’s how NPR will report the 2024 election results.) Candidates receiving less than 5% support are not shown individually. Demographic, income and education data comes from 2018-2022 American Community Survey five-year estimates. Demographic trends are not shown for special elections or states with fewer than 10 counties reporting above 50%. County-level unemployment data shown are preliminary August 2024 rates, via the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Township-level unemployment data comes from state governments. 2020 presidential margins are based on states’ final certified results, as provided by The Associated Press.
