Ohio is a presidential battleground state. The state has 16 congressional districts. Ohio voters do not register with a party and may choose to participate in either major party’s primaries. There are no statewide races for governor or U.S. Senate this year.

Ohio's primaries were originally scheduled for March 17. Voting was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, following a legal battle. Absentee ballots were due to be postmarked by April 27, with in-person voting for Ohioans with disabilities held on April 28.
