Alaska election results

Alaska is home to one of this year’s most competitive U.S. Senate contests. Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan is running for reelection against former Rep. Mary Peltola, the last Democrat to win statewide in Alaska. The race has been roiled in recent days by new allegations that another candidate who made the general election ballot, Dan J. Sullivan, is a spoiler recruited to try to siphon votes from the incumbent. A federal judge ruled against the Trump administration in a case about the issue.

The race for governor also appears close, with three Republican candidates in the general election facing one Democrat who was the top vote getter in the primary.

NOTE: Alaska uses ranked choice voting for general elections. The tallies below represent the initial results.
