Iowa election results

Iowa has trended redder in recent election cycles, and backed President Trump in all three of his campaigns. But now Trump’s unpopularity means Iowa Republicans are facing headwinds.

Even though the state’s entire congressional delegation is Republican and only one Democrat holds statewide office — state Auditor Rob Sand, who’s running for governor — Democrats are hopeful in Iowa this year.

The U.S. Senate and governor’s races are seen as competitive, as are three of its four U.S. House contests.
